Launch of SLOW FABRIC

We are pleased to announce the launch of SLOW FABRIC, a project based in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture, dedicated to creating handmade indigo-dyed products.

About Our Indigo Dyeing

At SLOW FABRIC, we use the traditional natural fermentation indigo vat dyeing method, which flourished during the Edo period(1600s). This process involves no chemicals—all ingredients are 100% naturally derived.

Craft in Shiga

Shiga Prefecture has a rich textile heritage, including hemp textiles from the eastern lake region, silk weaving in Nagahama, and canvas production in Takashima.
We primarily use locally sourced fabrics from Shiga in our work.

What We Offer

In addition to creating original pieces, we also accept custom orders and dyeing requests for existing garments and textiles, from both individuals and companies.

If you have any questions or would like to inquire about our work, please feel free to contact us.
